The effects of negative life events and dark tetrad traits on antisocial behaviour in adolescents

Previous studies have shown that exposure to adverse life events is positively associated with a tendency towards antisocial behavior. However, results concerning relationships between behaviour and internal factors, such as personality traits, are not so consistent. The present study aimed examine the effects of negative Dark Tetrad traits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, sadism) on different behaviors, including norm-breaking, aggression, vandalism, drug use. sample included 221 high school students (66% females) from three cities in Serbia. Results showed significantly predicted while events? power predict use ceased once dark were added regression model. In case narcissism, sadism norm-breaking also vandalism. Machiavellianism did any behaviors. ?he suggest largely explained by both traits. Aggression, other hand, better Finally, examined factors contribute much less explanation vandalism use.The discussed context possible prevention behavior adolescents.
